  • Marysol Jimenez, District CADCMarysol Jimenez, District CADC

    Marysol comes to the district after already providing valuable and effective partnership and services to PPS èßäÊÓÆµ, families and èßäÊÓÆµs for many years through the Esperanza Juvenil Program, a culturally specific program of Central City Concern. Marysol is a CADC II and has worked for Central City Concern for a total of 12 years with a 2 year break when she lived in Seattle. While there, she worked for the Gospel Mission of Seattle.

    We are so excited to have her be part of the team at Student Success & Health and bring her depth of knowledge and experience in providing culturally responsive services to the team.

  • Elijah Joshua (Uncle E) - District CADCElijah Joshua (Uncle E) - District CADC

    Uncle E will also be a familiar face to many PPS èßäÊÓÆµ, families and staff. He is well known and respected throughout the district for his skills in being able to build relationships and engage èßäÊÓÆµ and families. Most recently he was providing prevention services through the CHI (Community Healing Initiative) Program at POIC. Prior to that he worked for the Lifeworks REAL Program for seven years providing culturally focused services for Black youth and their families. In total he has over 15 years of experience providing substance use services and supports and holds a CADC II.

    Uncle E brings energy and positivity to everything he does and we are so grateful to have him join Student Success & Health. Welcome to Wakanda!

  • Jennifer Siegel - District CADJennifer Siegel - District CADC

    Jennifer joins PPS with three years of professional experience with adolescent drug and alcohol counseling.  Her trauma informed, pro-harm reduction approach, as well as lived experience, is welcoming to both èßäÊÓÆµ and families. Prior to counseling, Jennifer has 12 years of experience moving through trauma working as a yoga therapist for Living Yoga and in personal practice.

  • Accessing Services from the CADCs

    What you need to know

    The department of Student Success & Health is thrilled to have these amazing team members join us and wanted to share the specific services that they can offer to èßäÊÓÆµ, families and staff. We are all looking forward to the time when our èßäÊÓÆµ are back in buildings full time and at that point, this team may use a model that is more èßäÊÓÆµ specific, but until that time they are available to respond to referrals district-wide. Services that they can provide include;

    • Consultation with èßäÊÓÆµ, families and staff that is informational or focused on helping èßäÊÓÆµ and families connect with substance use treatment.
    • Individual counseling. We are not offering full fledged substance use treatment, but we can support èßäÊÓÆµ with treatment readiness, counseling around decision making, psychoeducation on substances and the impact they are having.
    • Individualized supports to complete Level A's.
    • Outreach and engagement of èßäÊÓÆµ when staff have concerns about potential substance use.
    • On-going support when èßäÊÓÆµ are returning to your èßäÊÓÆµ after substance use treatment.
    • Virtual support groups with a focus on elevating student identity.

    • Virtual drop-in hours for families.
    • A virtual support group for families and caregivers responding to or worried about a child who may be using substances. (This is currently scheduled to begin the week of Feb. 25th)
