• The first proper day of kindergarten for all èßäÊÓƵ is Tuesday, September 2, but there are two important events prior to that day:

      • All families will meet with their teacher for a one-on-one family meeting on either August 26 or 27.
      • Half of the èßäÊÓƵ will have a practice first day of èßäÊÓƵ on August 28, and the other half will come for their first day on August 29.

      In mid-August, your child's èßäÊÓƵ will reach out to you to schedule both the family meeting and the practice first day of èßäÊÓƵ.   This schedule leaves some uncertainty prior to September 2, but the gentle approach allows èßäÊÓƵ to ease into their kindergarten year with time to get to know their teacher and the classroom.

    • Your child is NEW to PPS
    • Your èßäÊÓƵ did NOT attend a PPS Pre-K locations: Boise-Eliot/Humboldt, Clarendon, Creston Annex, Dr. MLK Jr, Faubion, Grout, Jason Lee, Kelly, Marysville, Lent, Rosa Parks, Sacajawea, Sitton, Whitman, Woodlawn
    • Your student does NOT have an IFSP and did NOT receive services from Multnomah Early Childhood Program (MECP)
    • You are enrolling your child in your neighborhood èßäÊÓƵ and NOT a CBO/Charter
    • You have an email address and access to a computer

    Important Dates:

    March 1st - 2025-26 Enrollment Opens

    March 5th at 9:30am - Kindergarten Connect Info Session. (This is a parent-focused event) 

    April 8th at 5:30pm - FAQ session with the Principal and staff along with Kindergarten classroom tour. Children and parents welcome! 

    June 10th & August 27th at 3pm - Kindergarten Popsicle Social! This is a great opportunity to meet other incoming kindergarten families and make connections.
