The Leap into 9th Grade summer program prepares incoming ninth grade èßäÊÓÆµ to excel in high èßäÊÓÆµ by building a foundation for success before starting high èßäÊÓÆµ.
Program Dates & Times: June 23 - July 11, Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 12:30 pm
High Schools: Franklin, Jefferson, McDaniel, Roosevelt
What is the Leap into 9th Grade curriculum?
- Students prepare to succeed in high èßäÊÓÆµ with a focus on social awareness, self-management, relationship skills, responsible decision-making, and time management.
- Students practice AVID skills, such as preparing to take notes, planning for planners, and goal-setting.
- Students discover their interests and learn about different opportunities available to them during high èßäÊÓÆµ and after high èßäÊÓÆµ.
- Students participate in hands-on activities related to career and technical education (CTE) programs, and practice career and financial planning.
- Students apply all of their learning to complete their Green City Project with teammates and present it to the class.
