How does Career Related Learning happen at Grant?

We build in lots of infrastructure for èßäÊÓƵ to explore careers, from their Freshman Community Career Fairs and working alongside professionals in Career Technical Education (CTE) classes to attending the in Sophomore year and then, as Juniors and Seniors, èßäÊÓƵ actually visit workplaces. Information on registering for events is on the and in the Friday Bulletin - posted on the Grant website homepage and emailed to èßäÊÓƵ and parents/guardians every Friday during the academic year.

It’s important to start exploring careers now so èßäÊÓƵ can think about what they might eventually like to do and understand the pathways to get there. The Oregon Department of Education has added emphasis on Career Related Learning: it's a graduation requirement. By the end of Senior year, all èßäÊÓƵ will need to participate in two Career-Related Learning Experiences (“CRLE” for short–reflect on them with forms on the left-hand side of this page), build a resume (we do this in ?Junior English class), and write a “My Plan Essay” (during Senior English class).
